I used the original DVD format. I used the free version of DVDFab to rip the original contents of the DVDs. Each rip takes up 7GB or so.

I am sorry for dragging up an older thread, but great info.

What codec/format did you use to rip the dvd to retain menu functionalities?

Frank, I got the cover art with a program that I wrote myself. You learn about it here: http://mypieceoftheinter.net/archives/tag/dvd-cover-art-finder

As for Media Center not adding your DVDs, did you add the DVD directories to the "DVD" library specifically? You can do this by going into the Settings menu, selecting "Manage Libraries", and selecting "DVD movies".

So maybe i'm totally missing something here, but what did you do to get your movies added? I have mine in C:\Users\Public\Public DVDs\\(Audio|Video)_TS (I used dvd shrink). I tried adding it as a library, but it doesn't seem to want to keep the library added. And how did you get the cover art and whatnot?
