Lyrics Plugin for Windows Media Player and Winamp
February 3rd, 2008The Lyrics Plugin main page really says it all. It lets you see the lyrics for the music that is playing. I use it for Windows Media Player 11, and the install process is easy. Click download, run the installer, which will close Windows Media Player, and after the install Windows Media Player reopens with the plugin enabled. It takes the place of the visualizer, and it is simple enough to switch between the lyrics plugin and the visualizer.
It downloads the lyrics dynamically when each song is played, so if you’re offline you’re out of luck, but with an internet connection the lyrics load more or less instantly. Over all the actual lyrics seem to be pretty accurate as well.
Oh, and did I mention that it’s free?

Why can’t I uninstall this plug in through add or remove programs? I don’t want this plug in any more and there is no uninstall option. what do I do?
OS – XP Media center
Yes, how do i uninstall it???? The miniplayer stopped working when i installed it, and now i’d like to uninstall it.
This is very strange. I can’t see how to uninstall it either. In fact, my blog is the third result for a google search of uninstall lyrics plugin. Basically I’m saying that I have no idea how.
I found the solution to this problem. Nice app, but no miniplayer is killing me. Go to your programfiles/windows media player/plugins folder and just remove the .dll file that is in the folder. Not a good way to remove the program, but got my mini player working again.
Hey, thanks so much for your help about uninstalling this plugin. It worked.
I downloaded lyrics plugin as a .rar file. When un-rar’ed, it left the program file and two .dll files. I thought it was for itunes – it isn’t – so I didn’t want it but I couldn’t delete the .dll files. Tried quite a few ways. What worked was to right click and ‘open with…’ then open with winrar. You get an error message but the files seem to associate with winrar now and will allow themselves to be deleted. Done with Vista. YMMV.
wow thanks man! just delete the dll file from the plugin file it will start working! its the only way to uninstall!
thanks worked for me too except i went to program files/winamp/plugins and deleted the genlyrics dll
my plugin didn’t leave any .dll files cause i have no folder called plugins in my folder. but it still shows lyrics plugin installed. what do i do?
Thanks a lot …it worked the plugin went..its a pain..
Go to C drive and type in ‘lyrics’ in the search box.. Once the searches turn up.. Delete the lyricsplugin.dll In order to be sure you got the right one, check the path.. It’ll say Windows Media Player/Plugins.
