Why I don’t mind those stupid Facebook Applications

There are many great useful and fun Facebook applications.  Unfortunately, there are magnitudes more useless, annoying ones.  It also seems that the more useless the app, the more aggressively it tries to get users to invite their friends to use it.  Take my invite queue for example:

Clicking on one of those three links brings the user to a full list, with a summary shown here:

Notice that link in the upper right corner of the summary:

Clicking the link brings up this dialogue box:

Now all there is to do is check off "Application requests" (maybe "Group Invitations" as well), and click "Ignore these requests".

 

Ah, a clean request queue.  Beautiful.
